A Blueberry Spirulina Smoothie….and Julia’s becoming a Nutritional Therapy Consultant!

Blueberry Spirulina Smoothie Nutritional Therapy

It’s been a pretty crazy couple of weeks over here! Philippe travelled to Taiwan for two weeks for work, then I flew out to the Bahamas to visit my parents, and in the meantime we’ve been busy getting our new rescue pup Henri acclimated to our home.

If you missed it on our Instagram feed, meet Henri! He’s a lab mix we got from The Barking Lot rescue and he’s the perfect new addition to our family 🙂

In the middle of it all, I have decided to go back to school to get certified as a Nutritional Therapist with the Nutritional Therapy Association and started my classes last week. As you can probably tell, health and nutrition have become something I’m increasingly passionate about (along with cooking amazing food), and I’m so excited to learn more about how the foods we eat can help us reach ultimate health.

I’t s a year-long program, and will certainly be a challenge while working full time, but I’ll be sharing what I learn as I go in hopes that maybe you’ll be interested in learning more about the power of food too 🙂

With that in mind, we’ve been making this Blueberry Spirulina Smoothie on repeat lately, so I figured it’s about time I share my recipe with you! Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is packed with protein, vitamins and minerals that have an antioxidant and antimicrobial effect, including vitamin B12, beta-carotene, iron, calcium and phosphorous. These all help to keep your immune system strong, which is especially important when you’re traveling as much as we are these days!

If you want to learn about the benefits of Spirulina, check out this article.

Then make this smoothie!
